FICIL Members met on September 12 at a venue kindly provided by Vastint to discuss several topicalities as well as agree upon the outlook of FICIL for the following years.
Members expressed gratitude to Zlata Elksniņa-Zaščirinska for 6 years of leadership and extensive contribution to the improvement of investment climate in Latvia and welcomed Julia Sundberg as the new Chairperson of the Board.
Julia Sundberg outlined the top priorities for FICIL this season including: higher education reform, bringing digital industry to the forefront of Latvia’s economy, tackling the gaps in combating financial crimes and addressing labour force issues.
Also, members discussed the approaching FICIL 20th anniversary next year as well as FICIL Sentiment Index 2018 which will be released in January 2019. This will be the 4th year in a row that FICIL in collaboration with Dr. Arnis Sauka will be researching the changes and challenges in the business environment and investment climate in Latvia.
Thank you Vastint for hosting FICIL Members in your dynamic new space at Antonijas iela 17a which brings new life to the street. At the end of the meeting, members had the privilege to take a guided tour in Magdelēnas Kvartāls.
