Philip Morris Latvia, one of the largest taxpayers in Latvia’s trade sector, has become a member of the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia (FICIL).
Philip Morris Latvia (PML) is an affiliate of Philip Morris International in the Baltics. The company markets well-known global cigarette brands such as Marlboro, Parliament, L&M and Chesterfield. In 2018, PML introduced the innovative tobacco heating system IQOS, along with its heated tobacco units TEREA, to the Latvian market.
The company is working to deliver a smoke-free future, aiming to replace cigarettes entirely with scientifically substantiated smoke-free products. Looking ahead, PML is evolving its portfolio beyond tobacco and nicotine, with ambitions to become a broader lifestyle, consumer wellness and healthcare company.
In addition, PML contributes to Latvian society through corporate contributions and support for social programs that encourage equal opportunities and help prevent domestic violence and human trafficking.
“We are delighted to join the Foreign Investors Council in Latvia and to work alongside other leading international and local companies. FICIL provides an important platform for dialogue with policymakers and partners, and we look forward to contributing our experience and ideas to strengthen Latvia’s business environment. As a company committed to innovation and to delivering a smoke-free future, we see cooperation within FICIL as a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives and drive constructive change. Together, we can pursue shared goals of sustainable growth, responsible innovation, and creating long-term value for society.” Guntars Grīnvalds, Head of External Affairs at Philip Morris Latvia.
FICIL warmly welcomes Philip Morris Latvia and looks forward to working together to enhance Latvia’s business environment and drive forward sustainable growth and responsible innovation.
