Orkla Latvija, a producer of food products, confectionery and snacks has become a member of Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia.

Our aim is to continue investments in Latvia to improve and develop our business, therefore participation in Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia is a logical step to engage more closely with the processes which are important for investors and their decision-making processes.”

In April “Orkla Latvija” started construction of a new Laima production plant in Ādaži, investing several million euros. The new plant will be completed in 2020, and in 2022 another production plant will be opened next to it, specialising in production of biscuits and waffles.

The owner of Orkla Latvija is a Norwegian company Orkla ASA, whose origins date back to a time 350 years ago, and nowadays is listed in the Oslo stock exchange. FICIL is a non-governmental organization founded in 1999 with the purpose of improving the business environment in Latvia by uniting the common interests of investors and maintaining an active dialogue with the government of Latvia. FICIL unites 38 major foreign-owned companies in Latvia, 13 chambers of commerce, the Swedish School of Economics in Riga and the French Foreign Trade Advisors.
