Parcel logistics company Omniva has become a member of the Foreign Investors’ Council in Latvia (FICIL).

“Omniva has been growing rapidly in Latvia over the last several years, and we plan on investing substantial amounts in the future as well. Our vision is to be the preferred logistics operator providing seamless omnichannel with high commitment and in a sustainable way. With our participation in FICIL, we will focus on topics such as fair competition, transport infrastructure, reduction of shadow economy and the overall development of the business environment in Latvia. Sustainability is a key focus area for the company, so we will contribute with expert knowledge in this regard as well.” – Beāte Krauze-Čebotare, General manager in Latvia

Omniva Latvia is a company founded in 2012 that provides parcel logistics, information logistics and e-invoice processing services. Omniva has the most extensive parcel network in the Baltics, which provides quality, fast and safe product delivery services 24 hours a day. Latvia’s Omniva network currently has 360 parcel machines located in 133 populated places all over Latvia. In recent years, the company has grown significantly through the development of e-commerce, a trend which has been further facilitated by restrictions on sales in person as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of the major growth in demand for distance delivery services, both the public importance of Omniva’s services and impact on various conceptual aspects of sustainability (environment, employees, market relations and local communities, etc.) are growing.

FICIL is a non-governmental organisation, which unites large foreign-owned companies from different industries, foreign trade chambers and Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. FICIL’s mission is to use the experience and knowledge of its members to provide recommendations for public sector to improve Latvia’s business environment and competitiveness in attracting foreign investment.
